Ketamine Therapy in Manhattan, NYC

At InnerMost, we offer ketamine therapy in Manhattan rooted in one core belief: medicine works best when paired with skilled therapeutic support. Our Manhattan clinic brings together board-certified physicians, licensed psychotherapists, and clinical researchers under one roof. We've built an integrated approach to ketamine care that goes far beyond what most NYC clinics offer. Whether you're navigating treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, or another complex condition, we're here to help you do the deeper work.

What is Ketamine Therapy?

Ketamine therapy combines ketamine treatment with therapeutic guidance to help you overcome entrenched patterns, process trauma, and rediscover purpose. At InnerMost, we view ketamine as a catalyst for change, supported by expert clinicians every step of the way.

Originally developed as an anesthetic, ketamine has emerged as one of the most promising tools in modern psychiatry. Conventional antidepressants can take weeks to work and simply don’t work for up to 85% of the people who try them. Ketamine takes a different path. It can reduce depressive symptoms within hours, with relief lasting up to two weeks after a single treatment. Working primarily by blocking NMDA receptors in the brain, ketamine triggers a surge of glutamate activity that promotes neuroplasticity and the formation of new neural connections. This window of heightened plasticity is what makes therapeutic support so powerful alongside ketamine: new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating become genuinely accessible.

At InnerMost, we offer ketamine therapy in Manhattan through multiple evidence-based formats, each tailored to your clinical needs and healing goals. Our team collaborates with you from your initial consultation through ongoing integration sessions, ensuring this is your journey, supported by people who understand what it takes to heal.

  • Ketamine was first approved by the FDA for therapeutic use as an anesthetic and has been safely used in clinical settings for over 60 years.
  • The World Health Organization lists ketamine as one of the 100 most essential medicines in the world.
  • Clinical research consistently shows ketamine can provide rapid relief for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions when other treatments have failed.

Why Choose InnerMost for Ketamine Therapy in Manhattan?

Manhattan has no shortage of ketamine providers. What sets InnerMost apart is our unwavering commitment to integration: the therapeutic work that happens before, during, and after your ketamine session. We believe a ketamine experience without integration is a missed opportunity. With that belief at our foundation, here is what makes InnerMost different:

01

Integration is built in, not bolted on.

At most clinics, ketamine is administered and the patient goes home. At InnerMost, every treatment pathway includes preparation and integration sessions with a licensed therapist, both before and after each dosing session. This is how insights become lasting change.

02

A space designed for healing.

Our Manhattan center was intentionally designed with healing in mind. From the color palette and materials to the layout of each treatment room, every detail has been considered with your comfort and inner experience in mind. When you arrive, you won’t feel like you’re in a clinic. Set and setting matter in psychedelic-assisted therapy, and we’ve built a space that honors that.

03

Clinical research leadership.

InnerMost leads and participates in groundbreaking clinical trials in psychedelic-assisted therapy. Our team includes active researchers and senior clinicians who are shaping the future of this field alongside practicing in it. When you come to InnerMost, you’re in the care of people at the forefront.

04

Affirming care for every patient.

We offer specialized programs including ketamine-assisted group therapy experiences for LGBTQIA+ clinicians, and our entire team is trained in trauma-informed, culturally affirming care. We believe healing is for everyone, and our programs reflect that commitment.

05

Insurance coverage available for Spravato.

Spravato (esketamine), our FDA-approved intranasal ketamine option, is covered by most major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Empire, Medicare, and Fidelis. Evidence-based ketamine therapy in Manhattan is more accessible than many people expect.

Who We Can Help

We work with adults in Manhattan and across New York City who are navigating the following health conditions and associated challenges. Many of our patients have tried other treatments, therapy, medication, or both, without finding lasting relief. If that describes your experience, you’re exactly who we’re here to serve.

01

Depression

Ketamine offers a neurologically distinct path to rapid relief for people who haven’t responded to conventional antidepressants.

02

Anxiety Disorders

Our integrated approach combines the neurological reset of ketamine with skilled therapeutic support to quiet the patterns that keep anxiety entrenched.

03

Trauma & PTSD

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy creates the spaciousness to approach traumatic material that talk therapy alone often can’t reach.

04

Suicidal Ideation

Ketamine has demonstrated rapid reduction in suicidal ideation, and Spravato is the only FDA-approved treatment specifically indicated for MDD with acute suicidal ideation.

05

Substance Use Disorder

Our approach addresses the neurological patterns and psychological roots that sustain addiction — not just the behavior on the surface.

06

Chronic Illness

We offer mental health care attuned to the depression, grief, and identity loss that chronic illness so often produces and sustains.

Ketamine therapy in NYC is particularly meaningful for people with treatment-resistant depression. These are patients who haven’t responded to two or more antidepressants and are looking for a new path forward. We also work with people managing complex trauma, chronic anxiety, and co-occurring conditions. Our team will work with you during your initial assessment to understand your full history and determine whether ketamine is right for you.

How Ketamine Therapy Works: Key Benefits

Ketamine’s impact operates on multiple levels: neurological, psychological, and relational. Here’s what the research and clinical experience show:

Neurological restoration.

Ketamine restores brain connections impacted by chronic stress and trauma. It interrupts depressive cycles, quiets intrusive thoughts, and rapidly reduces symptoms that have resisted conventional treatment, sometimes within hours of the first session. Its effect on the brain’s glutamate system promotes the growth of new synaptic connections in areas that depression tends to erode over time.

Psychological depth.

Ketamine surfaces insights and releases repressed emotions in a safe, supported environment. In the non-ordinary state it creates, many people experience new perspectives on longstanding patterns, relationships, and beliefs. These are the kinds of shifts that can take years to reach through conventional therapy alone. At InnerMost, a trained therapist is with you to help you navigate and integrate what arises.

Sustained change.

Ketamine enhances neuroplasticity, the brain’s capacity to form new patterns. This window of heightened adaptability, when paired with dedicated integration therapy, supports healthier habits, lifestyle shifts, and renewed motivation that extend well beyond the sessions themselves. Many of our patients describe it as feeling like something that was stuck has finally started to move.

What to Expect: Your Ketamine Therapy Journey at InnerMost

At InnerMost, your ketamine therapy journey begins with compassionate care and thoughtful preparation. Each treatment session takes place in a safe, supportive setting in our Manhattan center, followed by integration to help you weave insights into lasting change. Our team is with you every step of the way.

01

Medical & Psychological Assessment

You’ll begin by meeting with an InnerMost clinician for a 1-hour Medical Consultation, and an InnerMost therapist for a Therapy Consultation, typically both via telehealth for your convenience. These calls cover a comprehensive medical, psychiatric, and psychological assessment to confirm whether ketamine is an appropriate treatment and, if so, which course of treatment to pursue. Your clinicians will help you determine what’s best for you.

02

Preparation

Once you’re confirmed eligible, your next step is a Preparation session with your own therapist or an InnerMost therapist. This is your opportunity to set intentions, build safety, and develop a rapport with your therapist before your first dosing session. We recommend at least two preparation sessions, with additional sessions available in the week leading up to your initial ketamine treatment.

03

Ketamine Therapy Session

Each session begins with a check-in and vital signs, followed by the administration of ketamine via intravenous infusion, intramuscular injection, or sublingual lozenges. The acute effects last between 30 to 60 minutes, and the full experience, including recovery time in our private room, lasts 90 to 120 minutes. You’ll have an optional eye mask, blankets, and ambient music in a serene environment designed to support your inner journey. Vital signs are monitored throughout to ensure your safety.

04

Integration

Within a few days of your dosing session, you’ll meet with your therapist for a 1-hour integration session to discuss your experience and any shifts in perspective. This is where the real work of lasting change happens: processing insights, translating the experience into your daily life, and deepening the therapeutic process. Integration sessions can happen with your own psychotherapist or with an InnerMost therapist, and can include practices like journaling, meditation, somatic awareness, or mindfulness techniques.

05

Follow-Up

Following your integration session, you’ll check in with the InnerMost team to assess how things are going and discuss whether ongoing treatment makes sense. For those following an infusion series, we recommend six sessions over the course of three to six weeks. Your ongoing plan at InnerMost always evolves with you.

A Space Designed for Your Healing

Location matters in ketamine therapy. At InnerMost, our Manhattan center is an intentional part of the treatment, not an afterthought. Our space was designed to support the nervous system and to create the sense of safety, calm, and containment that allows deep inner work to unfold.

The concept of set and setting is foundational to psychedelic-assisted therapy. Set refers to the mindset you bring into a session; setting refers to the physical environment around you. We take both seriously. From the materials and color palette of each treatment room to the recovery lounge where you rest after a session, every detail has been considered with your healing in mind.

Our center is located at 137 East 25th Street, 11th Floor, in the Gramercy neighborhood of Manhattan, easily accessible from Midtown, Flatiron, Gramercy, Chelsea, and the surrounding area.

Pricing & Insurance for Ketamine Therapy in Manhattan

We believe financial considerations shouldn’t stand between you and effective mental health care. Here’s what you need to know about the cost of ketamine therapy at InnerMost in NYC:

Spravato® (esketamine): covered by most insurance.

Spravato is the FDA-approved intranasal form of ketamine and is covered by most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Empire BlueCross, Medicare, and Fidelis. For eligible patients, Spravato® is the most cost-accessible ketamine therapy option available in Manhattan.

IV and IM ketamine: not typically covered by insurance.

Most insurance plans do not cover IV or IM ketamine therapy directly. However, portions of your care, such as the medical consultation or psychotherapy sessions, may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Our team can provide documentation to support insurance claims and help you explore FSA/HSA eligibility.

Psychotherapy sessions: coverage varies.

Integration and preparatory therapy sessions may or may not be covered by your plan depending on your specific benefits. We’ll work with you to navigate your options. Please reach out to our team for current pricing and to discuss what may be available under your plan.
