Sarah Watson (she/they), LMSW, is a therapist specializing in working with queer, trans, and neurodivergent individuals. She believes that healing takes place in relationship, and aims to meet clients wherever they may be—in their pain, in their joy, and in their fear. Healing is not an individual process, and she is not afraid to be with people in the exploration of what feels complex and hard.

Her psychotherapy work draws from modalities such as IFS, AEDP, and Hakomi, bringing in relational and somatic practices. Much like the process of our bodies forming a scab on a scraped knee, she believes that we all have the inner drive and knowledge in healing our own emotional wounds. As a past middle school educator, she knows the importance of someone witnessing the exploration and play of our inner world, and the capacity that builds for healing.

Alongside her clinical practice, Sarah works in research at NYU’s Youth and Young Adult Mental Health Group, focusing on the integration of the arts, including music and photography, into formal therapeutic spaces. This research keeps her learning, questioning, and continually asking—how can she show up for her clients with creative, clinically based interventions?
